hgallegos915 thanks for verification. Yours is in tune I see by the results you posted. Did you put the disty back to 10° after you moved it :?: Did it land on the same spot :?:

Sorry to hijack your thread Juans_93_MX3. It's best if you mark the disty trust me. :) Yea but its actually not needed simply because you really need to try hard to get it to change timing (move it WAY away from its original pos) ive had my disty on with no bolts with the motor running, and ive turn...

OK..I agree with that, but it's more precise if it's marked and it only takes a few extra moments.

UPDATE: Got the timing problem solved. :D It was the AutoZone replacement part. The casting near the upper mount is to close to the edge at the end of the mounting arm. This prevents the locking bolt from traveling to full swing because the large washer hits the casting. See pic http://www.cerberegi...

If the disty is not placed in the same spot it was in before moving it, the base timing will change and will be out of spec. Thefore I recommend marking the disty housing so it can be bolted in the same spot in reference to the engine as marked before it's moved. XxantwawnxX: you are correct about t...

If you're using the same disty just mark its position with a sharpie before you move it.

If you have not checked the timing in a long while it's probably a good idea to check it anyway. Make sure you follow procedure outlined in the online SRM.

Good luck.

Yes, PayPal and eBay will always communicate by including account holder's full name. Most email spoofs are undeniably low tech stuff and targeted to take advantage of the general computer population. BTW, I tried Firefox a while back. As I remember, it reminded me of a homebrewed desktop ap. It wor...

I would not even click on any such links. Depending on the victims operating system and it's associated vulnerabilities, you never know what spayware, trojans and other "malware" one may catch once you land on the web site. The best thing to do is forward the email to the proper party then...

Here is the thread I was looking for. Anyway I am having this problem also, but looks like we need more data on this issue. Since this is a relatively old thread I was wondering if anyone has new data to update why this happens on an otherwise good running engine? I bought my car new and I first sta...

Ever get embarrased @ a red light? Hit the defroster switch. It applies a load and stops the fluctuating temporarly. I have fluctuating idle problems every once and awhile and I use this as a temp fix. I was troubleshooting a vacuum leak which gave it the fluctuating idle. I used to shut it d...

I can relate to what petekav is saying. From experience, if I had to do the timing belt job and I had known what I know know about the shop that did the work I would have gladly done it myself or even bring it to Mazda dealer instead. Not a good idea to simply bring it to any local repair shop. Lake...
