You should be able to switch over everything from your k8 and not have any problems. I picked up this RS for $300 bucks. It only has 102k on the motor, and seems to be in very good shape. I bought it in a non running state, and it cost me $40 to get it running. Yeah i was planning on purchasing a new sending unit and tracing the wire to make sure all is well. There is no way that motor is over heating that quickly.

I dont really see the relevance since its the stock b6 in my rs. Only other info i left out in my previous post is that the coolant sensor right on the thermostat housing has been cut and ran to a toggle switch to manually control when the fan kicks on.
