I replaced the coolant temp gauge sending unit, that screws into the front of the head. The sensor for the fan, the pervious owner has cut the connector and spliced on a toggle switch so the fan is no ran off a switch and not the sensor. If that makes any difference. Here is a picture of what i repl...

Over Heating

I have a 93 rs that is over heating. Well the gauge says its over heating, but i dont believe so. The water pump is practically new and circulating coolant. There is currently no thermostat installed in the car. I just installed a new coolant temp sending unit. I started the car today after it sitti...

Hard to say, it depends how long it has been run when the temp gets well past operating temperature. Aluminum heads will warp though if over heated badly.

I see it being feasible with the motor out of the car, like in that picture. But with the motor still in the car, i can only see taking the water pump out with the belt in the way making the job a bigger headache. I'd love to see someboyd try to wiggle the pump back in place and then get the gasket ...

I got the 88 durometer, and both were mx3 mounts. I didnt feel like drilling the crossmember holes bigger. Plus i figured solid mounts were strong enough, that i didnt need the added strength of getting the probe front mount.

I got my awr mounts installed and they are awesome. Well worth the money, and my throttle response is rediculous now. The car feels so much more aggresive.

The seat belts breaking all the time, and not moving fast enough. Also fading and/or flaking paint.

Check the compression of the motor. That will tell you if its a bad head gasket. If the compression is fine, then you can start checking other things that would lead it to over heat, thermostat, waterpump, clogged radiator or block etc.

You dont have to worry about anything internally if the timing belt went. The k8 is a noninterference motor, meaning the valves will not contact the pistons. You need three things for a motor to run, fuel, spark, and compression. I doubt you have to worry about compression if all of a sudden the mot...

I will agree its possible without taking the timing belt off. But you can see how difficult it might be with the motor out of the car. Look at those pictures and the shuffling around you will have to do. Then go pop your hood and see the whole 3 inches of workspace you have. Just do it the right way...

Take a look at this picture. http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=53392 Its the how to replace your timing belt from the v6 faq. In the picture you can see that the timing belt itself and an idler pully for the timing belt are in the way. I guess it is possible to remove the water pump without...

Yes you will need to remove the timing belt to replace the water pump. Doing this job with the motor in the car is a complete bear. Even if the belt looks good i would suggest replacing it because its better to do the job now while you are already there, then have to redo it a year later. Doing the ...

I have no vacuum leaks, the motor only has 4k on it since i rebuilt it. also i did not have a problem until going to this new iac that came with my bored tb. The question i need answer, is is possible that crossing the two coolant lines that run to the iac, will give me these symptoms?
