Make sure you can move all your pulleys by hand. Shouldn't spin with ease but shouldn't be too stiff either. Listen for grinding noises or feel for roughness. My 2 cents; Gas prices here are average $2.75-.89 My gas light has never come on. Ever. My guage fluctuates massively. It will go from sitting on the bottom to half a tank and back.
