I currently have 17s on also. And if using stock shocks then yes no tyre would fit, however if combined with coilovers this allows for tyre to occupy the bove room

Not sure if it will fit but worth a try. Fairly simple procedure to remove these. Drain the fluid first, then remove the wheel and hub bolt etc until you can simply pop it out of the hub/disc.
