I got some rubber from Home Depot that I think is supposed to be used with bathtubs. I cut it to the general shape I needed to fill the hole. I then tried clear silicone to adhere/seal it, that just peeled right off. Then I tried some liquid nails stuff, that was still soft and gel-ly when it cured ...

BP and BPT interchangability

Just wanted to confirm some things. If someone has the JDM BPT, BP non-turbo parts should be useable on it right? So if you wanted any aftermarket parts like flywheels, pullys, cams, or gears you would be searching as if you had a 90-94 Protege right? That goes the same for regular OEM Protege BP pa...

I had the 2nd one in my 93 SOHC for a while. Not crazy about it. Its out now. Sucked too much water, the spark plug wires were arcing to the metal as well. Not cool. I'd go with the 1st one.

So I talked to the NaganoJapanese.com people about that BPT. Yeah I think they just aren't too web savy. They definetly knew about the engine and I actually ended up buying it from them yesterday so, thanks for helping me discover them! They have a shop in Albany too which is like only 1hour 20mins ...

I will say that myself not having any kind of body work experience was a big disadvantage and likely lengthened my project. I think no matter what you do, since it is a custom job, it will be different for everyone every time. If you're carefull and thourough, it can be done in time. I did it in man...

That too. And doing it yourself will make your car unique in that some rich 16 year old can't just run out and buy them and pay someone to put them in for him/her. That's why I don't want them to be made in mass so that we cusomizers can separate ourselves from the countless punk kids that can dump ...

Yeah, they used that pic for like 3 of the other Mazda engines they're selling. And what's with the HP rating on the BPT - 190? I doubt its an underestimation of the GTR so it must be an inflated rating of the GTX. Sounds like they have no idea what they are doing. No wonder the price is so cheap.

I am also in New York. I was under the impression that no junkyard would have a BPT since it comes in a Japanese car? I've been researching my own BPT swap for some time now. Maybe not enough time.

Some of you have gotten some serious deals on your engines. I cannot find a BPT GTX for less than Corksport's price of $1150. Any advice as to where to source this engine from?

At that kind of cost, you could buy 3 sets of civic projectors, completely screw them up and still buy another set. Honestly our stock headlights are awful in my opinion, but mass production of projectors would make them less special and custom. Now they are limitted to those daring enough to go int...

I have gone through 3 sets of tail lights (not including the stock ones). 2 sets of chrome altezzas and one set of black like yours. Every single one of them got moisture inside. I hope you don't have the problems I did. I think I'm going to put the black ones back in after maybe resealing them.

Well said. As far as tools go, I think I misused every tool in my garage on this project. Today it rained like crazy here in NY and now my lights have some condensation inside the lenses. I am pretty pissed of about it, but its probably due to the fact that I have yet to hook up the turn signal and ...

I just finished my own Civic Headlight conversion and let me tell you, $220 is no where near the amount I would charge to do them for someone else. It was a royal headache and I'm still not 100% pleased with my own work on MY car. Think of how it would be on a total strangers car. You would spend a ...
