Timing Belt for BPT after removing A/C

I am working on my BPT and am planning to remove the A/C to fit the Corksport downpipe. My question involves the timing belt. Since the A/C pully is no longer there, what belt can be used that will be shorter? I thought I read somewhere that I could use the belt from a SOHC Protege. Is that true? If...

Alternatives to Haltek

My BPT did not come with an ECU. I am trying to save money by not going with a Haltek. I think it is just too much for what I am trying to do. I need something a lot cheaper than $1,400+. What are my options?

I am also in the market for an ECU since my BPT didn't come with one. Anything cheaper than the Haltech? Anyone had any personal experience with the Megasquirt? I am not looking to go extreme with this car, but decent, maybe around 200hp. I am thinking the Haltech is still probably the best choice, ...

Wolf 3D ECU

Has anyone had any experience with the Wolf 3D ECU described in the 4-Cyl FAQ BPT Swap section? Here is a link to their site http://www.wolfems.com.au/home Even without personal experience, any thoughts on how well one of these might work? I just got my BPT GTX, but it didn't come with an ECU so obv...

Its obviously different on several versions of the car. My best advice is this: Take it step by step, bulb by bulb. All the black wires can go together for all I care, mine didn't reach and didn't feeling like adding more splices. Start with the headlights. See which is your high beam, low beam, and...

My point is that it would cost far more than it would be worth. And if someone can pay that much, they might as well do the work themselves. I've said on some other posts that you could buy 4 or 5 sets of lights for that price. That's plenty of lights to try and maybe mess up, or maybe get it right....

Thoughts on Corksport Axles?

Any thoughts on Corksport's new "Drive Shaft Shop Stage 2 axles"? http://www.corksport.com/main.php3?primNavIndex=0&mainURL=%2Fstore%2Findex.php3%3Fcat%3D237742 I was wondering in particular if they might work with the Protege LX transmission or the MX-3 SOHC transmission. It would be ...

Do it yourself. Its not impossible. Whose car should be better: The one who puts time, blood, sweat, and tears into their car? Or the rich kid who can afford to buy everything whatever the price. Its not fair. Take a chance, you'll be happier with the fruits of your own labors.

I think so, but I'm sure someone else has a better answer. But I would like to tac on a different Tranny question: Has anyone out there upgraded their transmission to something maybe with 6 gears? That would be nice.

To the UK question: I have no clue. To me that makes no sense, but I suppose its all relative to what you consider to be positive and negative. Or perhaps, they drive on the left side of the road, maybe electricity flows in the other direction too. Yeah, maybe the UK defies the laws of physics as we...

Interesting, but yeah that makes sense. The market for Miata stuff is a lot larger than Protege. What kind of prts would be useable from a Miata in the BPT? Same stuff as above I'm guessing?

Okay, this is my experience after wiring the Civic lights up, very simple. First off, there is no daytime running light. The 9004 is a single bulb, dual filament setup for high & low beams as we all know. The Civic uses 2 separate single filament bulbs, as you may know as well. Bothof those bulb...
