What OBD1 code reader to get?- checking CEL codes
I need an obd1 compliant code reader for my 92 mazda mx-3, 4cyl. I see several for sale that are advertised for fords, will these work? I am not sure if I just need one that is obd1 compliant or do I need a special one? Help, thanks

Damn thing still overheating
Well, I pulled the plugs and they were white so I changed the O2 sensor, I checked the cap and rotor and the contactor on the rotor was loose so I replaced that, still no joy, it gets about 3/4 of the way up on the gauge and holds now instead of going almost to H, I purged air for a really long time...

AC fixing
This is something I know about, I burned the copresor out of the mazda about 6 years ago, I got a junk yeard compresor, flushed it with AC cleaner and refilled with Ester oil, then I back flushed the sytem with AC clenaer driven by compressed air, then changed all the seals with neoprene, then I pul...

I tested the fans and they are working correctly, thermostate is opening, ie upper hose is cold and then gets hot as lower, it just seems to be generating a lot of heat, it will overheat standing still now if i hold it revd to 3000 for about 5 to 7 minutes, I am starting to wonder about the oil pump...

I changed radiator cap in addition to all the above and still overheating, the only thing I haven't done is fan relay? I noticed when looking up the fan relay that there is a fan thermostate listed, could that be a problem?

I have flushed it senseless, coolant wise, I have never run anything but sythetic oil in it, I am starting to think it may be running too lean? I am not sure what you mean by your fan comes on and your engine overheats? My problem only occurs on the highway and then only under stress, like a really ...

Overheating 4 cyl, Help, please look again!
Please read last post, thanks Car is 92, radiator replaced in 04, overheats at highway speeds, does not around town. I replaced water pump and thermostat, still overheats, gets about 3/4 of the way up the dial, does not peg out to H. It does better with A/C off, but still does not run where it is su...
