swap in a 90-94 protege engine... way more power and torque than stock, and incredibly easy to find parts for.

I have that exact lift... 180 bucks at Autozone... the engine stand shouldn't be too much either. I don't think you'll need it though... unless you really wanna baby your B6. I just made a holder thing out of plywood for my BP

still, replace the line if it's got a crack on it... it's for your own safety.

I'm a 17 year old swapper too.... and well... I used the environment to my advantage. Up here in Marblehead Massachusetts we've had so much snow since the start of my swap that I just dumped the old engine in there (nice and cushy) :P

How's THAT for hardcore?

well, think about this.... what would cost less to manufacture: a crappy rod for an N/A motor and a really nice rod for a turbo block, or one really nice rod? materials are cheap. Making two sets of things, keeping both in inventory, etc. would not be. Thus, it's cheaper for a company to make one ni...

I was told that the internals are the same between the BP and BPT outside of the slightly lower compression pistons on the BPT... which would make economic sense. It's cheaper to build one very nice motor that could be turbo/NA than a nice one and a crappy one. Oh, and the cams are different, duh :P
