hah! torque? on a CIVIC? XD XD XD XD XD oh, that cracks me up. I think maybe you got it backwards. MAYBE 700 hp and 540 tq, but I still doubt that. that car sounded like @#!$, if I do say so myself. Power doesn't mean ANYTHING when your car sounds like a kazoo. Now, a WRX STi? now THERE'S a mean sou...

yeah, should be fine, if you like teeth chattering vibrations and stalling out :)

answer: no... no way in hell :P
keep the idle around 700-800
it's a tiny engine anyway... if you're worried about burning lotsa gas while idling, stop hitting so many red lights :)

sure it will... they'll handle the BP fine... it's ONLY another 40 horses. They're built to take about 200. If he was to TURBO the BP, then definitely grab the protege tranny, but the RS tranny should work fine for a stock BP.

oh god..... I have an AWFUL story to tell about slippy clutches :P When I bought my car a couple months ago for a christmas gift to myself (:P) the one thing that was really wrong with it was a slippy clutch, but it wasn't so bad so I didn't think much about it. Here's the problem though: Clutch sli...

I'm gonna blast em with the wrench after my parents get back from church.... in the mean time I need to unhook the speedo gear, clutch slave cylinder, and the shifter rod + stabalizer. my opinion is that if you're taking out the motor, just buy a BP and swap the flywheel from the old engine onto it.... might as well.... parts are cheaper and easier to find for it too.

bad coil or distributor? weak wires? if it's only doing it at high rpms, those are likely causes, especially if they're old (120k miles or more)

Other than that, if it's just at WOT, regardless of rpm, maybe a bad ECU? I dunno....

I've got one... but I really doubt you'd drive out to Marblehead Massachusetts all the way on the east coast to pick up a motor with 159k miles on it :P

No way in hell am I gonna package that thing either XD

Unless you wanna pay like, 120 USD + shipping + taxes :P
