Cats can be tested. They drill a hole infront of it hook it up to the machine and get the readings before the cat and after and see how it preforms.

As far as i know the readings for 1.8 and 2.5 o2s are the same.
It will be really easy to pull out your o2 if you have a buddy with a torch.
Heat around the o2 sensor not the sensor itself but the pipe and it will come out real easy , sometimes it strips tho most of the time it wont.
