hmmm, I have a crazy idea get it to this weird 'limiter' in 5th.. then chuck it into 3rd, and see what happens ?! maybe its the ECU being silly at this one RPM, and might be fine once you blast past it with a different gear if the engine is like totally dead after that RPM and the speed just drops b...

yeah, having no cat will result in flames. as far as im aware.. when you come off the throttle quickly (for a gear change) the lack of air makes the engine run rich, the sensors in the exhaust detect this, and the ECU responds by putting in less fuel to make it run correctly again, but its got a bit...

is the 'GS' the 1.8 V6 one?

FYI: I have a 1.8 V6, completely standard alloys/tyres -so no speedo errors there, and its a Manual-Transmission.

I was on the motorway the other day and was doing 4000rpm in 5th gear, at 75mph.

I've got 95RON cack in mine at the moment, and its getting pretty poor fuel-economy.. might give 98RON a go next time, and whack a dosage of Redex in there too (just to give it a nice clean out.. ) and see how it goes, i'll let you know any results. not expecting the fuel-economy to rise dramaticall...

that sounds good Chadley! I looked at a Red one and it had that same Pink Spoiler too, :lol: but nowt that can't be fixed 8) as you have probably seen, my search has ended with a nice Silver one, but I did buy it 2 months before I was thinking of doing so didn't have 5k to play with, but these MX-3'...

crazy 4 quid postage for a bit of plastic :lol:

my mate fitted one of those to his Celica after he got rid of the Toyota double-din thing... works really well, and they look good too.. the storage space is an obvious plus!

you capture the spirit there perfectly... its for cruising in and lookin' good, and it certainly makes a flippin' good noise.. (would like it a bit louder though ;) ) hehe 8) its a marvellous motah, absolutely adore its looks, real nice indeed.. only 1 or 2 straight-line's on them I think, brilliant...

Got my MX-3!

1.8 V6 model, 72k on the clock, picked her up today.. click here for pictures drove it nearly 100 miles from where I bought it to get it back home, nothing broke.. so assuming all is ok! was > 4000rpm all the way, near enough.. apart from the odd bit of slow-lane to give it a rest, she drives fine.....

Went and looked at one, last Sunday and it was very nice to drive, definately want to get one :D didn't buy it, as it was a 95 / N reg, for around £4.5!!!!! Way overpriced, (Glasses guide says around £3500 for that age) and although it was in 'mint' condition (quotes because theres a catch..) there ...
