Converting to E85 - CHEAP FUEL

Here in Minnesota they are offering E85 at some gas stations. E85 is a mixture of Ethanol and Gasoline (85/15). It's 105 octane. When gas was $3.40 here E85 was $2.45. So nearly a dollar cheaper for 105 octane. That's always good. I am planing on experimenting with my car and seeing what it'll take....

Just try and find another o-ring, maybe a little thicker, but same diameter. Get a new valve cover gasket and get some gasket sealer and your problems will be solved!

Check your codes. They don't lie!

Sounds like the valve guides are getting bad. With higher RPM oil pressure increases and in your instance oil may squeze by the seal and into the combustion chamber.

Check your air flow sensor. Also check your mechanical (if you changed a timing belt), and your electric timing.

Yeah you are talking like you are high.

The appearance of a short shifter shouldn't be the only reason to buy one. Trust me and buy a B&M or other name brand shifter. I bought a cheap short shifter and now it's much more knotchy, not much shorter either!

When the car is off the ground and stable see if you can move the lower control arm. If you can it's probably bad. Have a friend sit to the side of the car and then put it in gear and let out the clutch and see if the motor moves. CHECK THE CROSS MEMBER BOLTS. Sounds like that could also be a problem.

I have a Spec Stage IV in my PGT and I've been very happy with it. It will handle everything I throw at it.

B5 in my 3?

I was cleaning out my engine bay when I noticed the B5Z code nestled a little under the heat shield of the exhaust on the head. That would mean that it's a 1.5L then right? It is a DOHC, those motors were only supposed to come in the Protege's I thought!

BPT!!!!

MUCH BETTER MOTOR. There is nothing wrong with the KL-ZE, but they are just more cumbersome! I have one in my PGT and when I bought my MX-3 I sought out an I4 just because I'd rather go Turbo I4 than NA V6.

The KL-ZE deffinately isn't the best idea for a I4 car. Just spray a BP. That'll give you 14's.

Yeah, it happens. It's fairly common in older B6T's and early Miata engines.

Are they that big stock? I'm talking about a regular BP motor (likely out of an Escort).
