Pictures of the ol' girls (56k beware? i think...)
Most of you probably dont know me, the majority of my activities on mx-3.com consists of researching, and other various lurking-related things... but decided i'd throw some pictures up one of the three favorite things (next to women and alcohol, though i havent quite figured out in which order the t...

you will need to support the motor because of the 4 mounts, 3 of them are on the trnny so the motor will not be solid at all... It will fall and sit crooked if you dont support it. To lower the tranny, use some elbow grease  How should i support it? any particular thing i should do/use or sho...

We're removing the little things here and there that is required, but i wanna make sure before i carry on: What can be used to lower the tranny? Am i able to just use a normal jack with a big...

I found this on an issue of SCC a while back, at first i thought it was kinda interesting: http://www.01designsystem.com/diis.html But I kept reading on the website, i found out that you need to fill the compartment with dry ice, and that it would only last a few hours. The system itself costs a rid...

clutch installation -- confusedddd
Ok, im not COMPLETELY mechanically clueless, but im not an expert either. I bought a clutch set from exedy awhile back, and ive been meaning to install it. I remember i had asked on the forum back then too, and the general response was that its not really all that hard to do. I decided that i should...

how many coats of clear did you put on that hood exactly? and how much orange peel did you get? I have painted my car myself twice....the latest result much better than the first but still not to my liking. There are a lot of things you should and shouldn't do, LOTS. The research I did (and i did a...

PROPERLY painting a car?
When i first got my MX-3 almost a year ago, it had lots of nasty oxidation on the hood and the roof, with various patches here and there. I've always planned on repainting the whole car, and a cheap quick job at somewhere like earl scheib seemed tempting but in the end i feared i would regret whenev...

hoo-rah! dewthis, you were indeed right. The main reason i thought it wouldnt fit was because of the AC line, which i ended up just sorta pulling it outta the way. It worked, and i think the AC still fine. It was sorta flexible, and i didnt bend it too much but it did move a little after removing th...

We should remember, one of the main reasons we havent seen a real actual replacement for the mx-3 is that it's genes got cross-pollenated with the RX-7 since the FD days. There was a website somewhere around, that had renditions and models of early versions of the 3rd gen RX-7, and a lot of em looke...

Another question... so i did the whole search thing, and ive read most cai threads i can find all the way back to 2002, so if you still wanna yell at me, er i guess that wouldnt be so bad =P Anyways, the qestion is how in god's name are you supposed to jam the filter behind the fender, especially wi...

quick CAI question
Ok, so i got around to installing my cai, but i ended up putting the filter straight down directly from the VAF, as opposed to most people i see who has theirs going down behind what used to be the area the coolant resevoir'd be. Question is, would i still get the same benefits, or is this placement...

... new episode of twilight zone, the Mystery of the Self-Consuming MX-3! lol But seriously, today after i played around with my car, trying (unsuccessfully) to remove my headlights (something is awry behind the fender, most likely because of a minor accident i was involved in) Out of nowhere i get ...
