Re: "Millenia ZE" vs "True ZE" Dyno evidence.

I understand what MrMazda is trying to do. There is a lot of misinformation. When I look back in my memory in years past I don't recall anyone ever suggesting that the 2.5L Millenia KL was on equal footing with the JDM ZE. I always knew that it had lower compression and the KL-01 cams and if my memo...

Re: "Millenia ZE" vs "True ZE" Dyno evidence.

I don't care enough to do the looking...but I'm fairly sure that there are different pistons, with different compression ratios between the North American Millenia 2.5L and the J-spec Straight or Curved neck ZE. A 30hp increase from 170hp in what is essentially the same engine can only be explained ...

Re: What Engine Could Replace the KLZE?

I think this is a very important discussion. This is the exact thought process I went through at the start of my custom car design journey... Me: "I want monster power for my MX-3..." Smart me: "But even if you could make huge power, you can't put it on the ground." Me: "I c...

Re: Draining Powersteering fluid?

It's a pump. disconnect the pressure line from the rack and spin the pump manually and the pump will push the fluid out into a bucket.

You won't get every drop but you will get most of it. Then just be careful when disassembling things nad you won' make a big mess.

Re: What Engine Could Replace the KLZE?

When you ask the question "What engine could replace the ZE?" you seem to be asking "What other engine could become the de-facto choice for MX-3/323/Probe/MX-6/626 owners who want to increase HP for a reasonable investment of time and money?" the answer is that there is no such e...

I've been saving fuel receipts for about 2 years now and I average about 26mpg in summer...23 in winter.

Re: 250 Miles per tank....

How much fuel do you guys consider to be a "full tank"? 13 gallons should get you nearly 400 miles, or 645 kilometers... topped off to BONE DRY, the first time I ever ran out of gas in my '92 was 407 miles exactly... Most fuel I've ever been able to get into any of the MX-3's I've owned i...

Re: 250 Miles per tank....

I get about 480km/300mi per tank in summer so you're not too too far off. check tire pressures, make sure the brakes aren't dragging. Lift each wheel off the ground and check the condition of wheel bearings and stuff. Make sure they spin really free. You're only 10-20% low based on averages I've see...

Re: KLZE runs fine then dies and have no fuel plz help!!

It means do you have Battery Positive power (12V) at that point? You would measure it with a multimeter or voltmeter.

Re: KLZE runs fine then dies and have no fuel plz help!!

Does B+ exist at the fuel pump terminal with the ignition on? (not jumped at the diagnostic box) If NO, it's the fuel pump relay. Is there fuel injector operation sound when cranking? If YES, and the fuel pressure is good at the rail, it's probably the ECU. If NO... Does B+ exist at the correct term...

Re: ecu qestion on klde swap

Imagine that you were taking the engine out of the Xedos and you were going to put it on a stand and make it run like for a display or something. You would use all the parts that came with the Xedos. Now imagine that your MX-3 is the stand. The only difference between your car and an engine stand is...

Re: ecu qestion on klde swap

I am not an expert on the DE engines and their variations, but if you can use the Xedos ECU, Distributor and sensors everythign should work as it did in the car it came from. The major items that differ from car to car over here are the distributor and air flow meter. For the most part the other sen...
