Re: Robs '95 RS engine bay mystery

The hose sitting on top in the picture...actually the bottom when it's installed in the right orientation is a vent. It doesn't connect to anything.

Re: Another issue.....any ideas appreciated

Loose ground is a real possibility. I had my engine out last summer and reinstalled it, which I have done many times and the main ground from the frame to the transmission case was loose and and totally dead. after hours of searching through the fuse box and the wire harness...I jiggled that ground ...

Re: Robs '95 RS engine bay mystery

That is the charcoal canister...or at least it is "a" charcoal canister. You can tell by the bits on the back that slide into the bracket.

Re: KLZE confusion, trying to sort rumor from reality...

I'd bet my a-- that Alistair didn't dyno a damn thing with a K8 exhaust. Charlie, By "A-spec tuning", I was referring to the DE ECU and KL02 VAF that more than 50% of the membership use with their KLs, eventually a few do spring for aftermarket EMS or KL31/36 ECUs though. That is tr...

Re: Robs '95 RS Belt drive problems :(

If the pulleys are hot it suggests that the belt is slipping. Even though you don't hear any squealing. I recommend going to the Mazda dealer and getting a factory alternator belt. This has been a problem with the I4 engine for years and from my own experience when I had one, the only solution was t...

Re: KLZE confusion, trying to sort rumor from reality...

I can take my car to the same dyno on 10 different days and get 10 different eek numbers with a 10 hp spread if not more.... I can dyno a car a sea level, or at 5000 feet above sea level and get a 15hp spread.. I can heat soak a motor on a dyno in the same day and loose 10 hp... This is why most pe...

And I will definitely have my car dyno'd in the spring before I take it all apart.

Re: KLZE confusion, trying to sort rumor from reality...

First I would point out that I haven't seen anyone lie to you or call you stupid. I have seen several respected members share their opinions, which have at times differred from yours, in a reasonable and rational way, and a lot of ranting from you. I would also point out, because you have mentioned ...

Re: KLZE confusion, trying to sort rumor from reality...

You realize that you're quibbling over single digit numbers....and you're not really engendering conversation with the attitude.

Re: "Millenia ZE" vs "True ZE" Dyno evidence.

I'll make it easy. Read the bottom line. Check the dyno graph. J-Spec tuning. Better than stock MX-3 exhaust. With a 15% drivetrain loss(That's being generous, it's likely more like 12%), even with a FAR less restrictive exhaust, they made less than 200 BHP at the crank. Let's apply a bit of actual...

Re: "Millenia ZE" vs "True ZE" Dyno evidence.

They would make more power swapping a Millenia engine and a KL31/KL36/Chipped ECU , and save money in the process. I catagorically disagree with that statement. The North American Millenia 2.5L V6 is a KL-DE. Unless someone has evidence to the contrary, I believe it has the same piston and resultin...

Re: "Millenia ZE" vs "True ZE" Dyno evidence.

I would also like to point out...becasue as far as I've read in this thread it hasn't been...the difference between HP rating and a WHP recorded on a dyno. The published values for these engines are ratings roughly equivalient to the numbers you'd see on an engine dyno. Typical chassis dyno numbers ...
