this is very easy, dont cut any wires. go to your old engine, and unplug the ingector harness, and plug that into your BP you will have to take off some of the tape to move one plug for the coolant temp you can wire the vics later

it will work, you can use your original wireing harness... just have to move the one plug from under in intake manifold to under the water outlet. also, you need to get a distributor off of a 90-94 protege your stock ecu will work (vicks will not activate + lower rev limit)

The better question is which will take more time and effort. All in all I personally would spend less time just directly swapping in the newer motor than i would doing a head swap. well I dont think it should take you more than an hour to swap a head, if you think you can swap an engine faster than...

you HAVE to use your original 1.6 dohc distributor, if not, you will have to re wire everything.

I dont know if you guys know that Toucan industries is not new company, and i'm pretty sure they can afford proper winding machinery. Toucan Industries = Ractive.... not a 5 star brand, but not APC either.... anyways, i heard these springs were designed by Eibach, I've also seen them in a few honda'...

you can get the tranny off of any protege 90-98 as long as its a g-series tranny (1.8 DOHC) you can also get a tranny off of a Ford Escort GT both of these will use the same axles you can also use the tranny off of a Kia Sephia 1.8. ok, if you really have 3000 to spend, why not do it the right way... BOOST it :-D you can probably save money by buying a BP-T for about an extra 800 dollars. if not, just get the regular engine, and put a nice turbo kit on it... you will never regret it. try to find a cheaper transmittion... i see ...

i beleive there are 3 different valve covers on the bp the square (rectangular box looking one) is the ones off of the BPT and protege the one that is kinda rounded off but kinda square (square but has the timing belt UNDER the valve cover) is the 94+ newer style BP the round one is off of the miata...

http://www.gaugepods.com i think they're one of the only places u can get a pod for our cars.... i just got mine in.. shipping was pretty fast and it fit perfectly. i got mine unpainted (black) looks better than the ugly gray color

i think the 1.6 miata manifold should bolt up to the dohc 1.6 mx-3... u might have to flip it upside down though
