are you guys really sure that the rx-7 turbo meter doesn't fit? I work an auto parts store, and even though they have different part numbers, it IS the same flap style meter. Maybe our sistem is wrong (happens a lot), or maybe the plugs are different? I would check them out side by side, but they're...

I had this problem one time on my old Olds, we thought it was really serious and expensive, so I never looked into it. Turned out to be one of the boots was scraping when turning the wheel all the way. Its the cheapest thing you could replace so it should be the first thing you check.
