Re: !!EMERGENCY!!
Hmmm this is bad. The cig lighter should be on the same fuse as the power mirrors, clock, etc. Are these less important accesories working? Have you got something else you can plug in to prove there is no power at the socket? Hopefully the lighter itself won't be u/s, that would be too sad to contem...

"right now the test point next to the brake booster for the ground -> fuel pump is jumped and the car starts and runs everytime..."
Can you elaborate on what you mean "is jumped"? If I know what you mean I might be able to throw my 2 cents worth in.

I've looked at the owners registry but couldn't work out how to add to it.

Re: Manual transmission fluid
Tried to find out about the Elf products with no luck. Elf may be big in Europe (don't know about the States and Canada) but they're virtually non existent here and seem to have a poor distributor network. They let us down on the weekend as they didn't even get engine oil to us until after the meeti...

As far as I know the clutch uses the brake master cylinder.

Re: Manual transmission fluid
I'll look into the Elf oil to find out if it has sulphur in it. I work on a pit crew for GT Performance (Mitsubishi Evo 8) and he is considering a switch to Elf from Redline as Elf are offering him the products as sponsorship. Theres a meeting this weekend at Wakefield Park so I'll see what I can fi...

Re: Manual transmission fluid
Thanks for that.
How about Elf products? I can get some of that pretty cheap through a mate (free??) but I don't know anyone who has actually used them. I believe they are supposed to be pretty good though, they use Elf in F1 and other motor sports.

Re: Manual transmission fluid
Before putting in the Redline, should the tranny be flushed or anything? Or will just a good drain do the job?

Re: my new car never starts
How did you go with this?
If the electrical drops off as you try to crank, it would seem to be the starter motor to me. Or more precisely the solenoid. If it was the ATX switch I think it just wouldn't crank but other electricals would stay on.

Re: TNS Relay - where is it?
Eugene, I don't need to pull it apart again now I know its just the switch, just the steering column covers. The switch mechanism that needs replacing is only about 4" x 3" and thankfully isn't the whole stalk / wiper controller, etc. The old switch is still working so I decided I'll leave...

Re: Help?
My 30X is red and not having seen either on a car except in photos, I thought I'd go for the clear ones. Now reading this it seems like black would be better. I wouldn't like the clear ones to look cheap and the more I think about it the more I can imagine the clear ones deteriorating over time. So ...

Re: TNS Relay - where is it?
Problem solved (or will be tomorrow). I gave up and called an auto electrician and he was as baffled as me. He was convinced there had to be relays too and we virtually stripped the car looking. All his diagrams also indicated relays. We eventually found that there is no TNS relay, headlight relay o...

Re: tail light bulb help
I'd be checking the earth continuity at both the tail and brake lights. Bad ground wires can make a lot of weird things happen.
