Re: How do I take a tire off a wheel?

Oh - and if the tyre is in one piece make sure you take the valve out.

Re: How do I take a tire off a wheel?

If its not too late and theres still plenty of tyre on the rims (and you haven't got a bead breaker): - get a heavy vehicle like a 4WD - get someone to help you - lay the tyre and rim in front of the drivers side 4WD (?) tyre (so you can stick your head out the window and see). Line it up so the 4WD...

Re: wiring LEDS?

You need a resistor in series with the LED, don't know what size but I've seen some good threads in Lighting about this. Do a search there and you should find all the info you need.

Re: Dash Lights?

Good to hear! Now you can either leave them bridged so they come on full brightness with the headlights or get a new dimmer. I'd just leave it bridged and wait until I found a cheap one!

Re: Dash Lights?

M92, the best thing would be to take it to an auto electrician. Tell him you think your dimmer has had it because it was playing up. It'll take him a couple of minutes to confirm it or not. Otherwise you could take the dimmer out of the car and take it to an electronics shop. Same thing, they could ...

Re: Dash Lights?

M92, you need a multimeter. If you unplug the cables from the dimmer you won't be able to check if there is a variable voltage on the output. If you wanna bridge it out you'll need a multimeter to check what wires are what so you don't short out the + to ground. If you haven't got a multimeter surel...

Re: Dash Lights?

Take the dimmer switch out and in the plug, bridge between the ground wire and the wire THAT IS NOT positive. I wouldn't be game to suggest the cable colours as yours might be different to mine (but I think its red). I've done this on mine and it worked OK. Be careful though as you don't wanna short...

Re: Dash Lights?

You should prove that it is the switch first by bridgeing it out. You probably don't want a spare one if it isn't the switch.

Re: Dash Lights?

That green thing sounds sus but I don't know what it is. When you say you got voltage at the switch - there's 3 wires - 2 should have voltage and one should be ground (with the lights turned on). And with the dimmer plugged in. Is this what you've got? If only one cable has voltage the dimmer is u/s...

Re: Engine Died - Again!

I've just posted a diagram - follow the link below. The cable on mine was cut right through so it was pretty obviously damaged. Without the sensor the engine will crank but will not start (or if running when it fails will just stop). Hope this helps - let us know how you go. I'll see if I can find o...

Re: Dash Lights?

M92_MX3 - you haven't said what voltages you got at your dimmer. Have you checked? You just keep saying they don't work but haven't given any details so we can offer any help

Re: Dash Lights?

The dash lights are on the same fuse as the tail lights. Check they are working. The dash lights run through the dimmer switch, can you check you've got a voltage there?

Re: Engine Died - Again!

Checked the crank angle sensor? I had a belt rub through the CAS cable. Its under the crank shaft pulley. There's another one in the distributor.

Re: I NEED SOME HELP!!

What voltage have you got on each of the 3 wires that go to the dimmer switch?
