Re: 6speed tranny
OK, MX3.COM, there's some kinda problem here. I have replied, but this UBB is not seeing it or the one before my other one, it only sees the last. I'm very interested in the idea of a 6 spd for us, have been since '99. Mainly because of the economy, as I was doing 130 miles per day on the interstate...

Re: what is this??? internal part?
reread my post, found I had made an error in the measurement. 1mm thick, 3mm wide, and about 5cm long, with rounded ends, it was a circle before it was mangled. I have no means, that I know of right now, to upload the pics. I will check it out later. Thanks

what is this??? internal part?
I had to change my oil pan gasket last night due to leakage. I was unable to find an actual gasket, so had to use only gasket maker. I found this thing in my oil pan and thought someone who had rebuilt their DOHC may be able to identify it. It is a bit mangled, so I've no clue. It is a metal band ma...

Re: Top Speed, anyone?
Awesome!! Hope nobody got tickets! I've done a CAI on a J-spec engine I just swapped, but haven't pushed it, yet. Everybody who has seen that the speedometer goes to 150mph has asked if it could really go that fast. Looks like we've definately gotten close to it!

93 gs auto
I have a few questions for you GS owners. I've been drooling over a 93, that's been sitting for several months. Was finally able to talk to the owners, who are ready to sell since they don't need it anymore. It has 112,000 miles, but I've not yet heard it run, battery was dead from sitting. They say...

Re: Temperature gauge acting weird
on DOHC, thermostat is located behind the distributor. Follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the thermostat housing on the engine, on the airbox side.

Top Speed, anyone?
Hey, I'm just curious what the top speed anybody has reached in their 4-cyl. I have a 94, DOHC, not long after I bought it and everything was still stock, I hit 130 mph. Yeah, some may not believe it. I don't remember what rpm was at the time, but it was a smooth ride. Why did I push it?? I got pass...

Re: 6speed tranny
OMG!!! I have dreamed of this conversion! Would it actually be possible to swap in a 6spd tranny? I've been sure it would improve mileage and, well, amount of tickets. Not to mention the fun factor!! Please, let us know if this could be reality. I've had my 94 RS since 2/98, and most of it spent wan...

Re: bad alternator?
A civic??? why here??
If you've replaced the battery, and it keeps getting drained, then the alternator must not be charging it. When running, it's using up the battery, keep it up and you'll need a new battery, again.

Re: PLEASE help! Ball Joint Search Nighmare
Yeah, it would seem our Mazda dealerships would have all the information we need. Truth is, I've stumped several with my questions, which I thought they'd be able to answer with ease. I got the shrug and "here's the manual", well nice manual, jacka@@! But we also have to face that we're de...

Re: PLEASE help! Ball Joint Search Nighmare
I notice you're not in the US, but I got mine at my local O'Reilly's Auto Parts, part # K8773. My car is a 94 RS, so I don't know if they are the same part, but I think they could be. Have you tried spreading the hub assembly's pinch point? I had to, but just a little bit to slide in the ball joint ...

Re: squeling.
Check belt tension, both belts, while you're there. Check their condition as it sounds like they may need replacing. A manual will tell you everything you need to know, good luck!!

Re: Where to get zx2 s/r struts?
I've been considering this same switch, after 230,000 miles, my struts are creaking like your grandmothers rocker. lakersfan1, gotta question that ties in here, If I'm not lowering my car, is ZX2 conversion a bad idea? Will they not work well with stock springs?
