yeh i know, im prety sure alot of my problems come from having an engine thats about to break 160k miles..

my car really doesnt have any problems, been having power problems b/c i have a full aftermarket sound system with 2 12's and i have a sohc motor with a crappy alt...

wow does running another wire form the alt power to battery power help alot... i can listen to my music alot higher and not have my rpm's drop off.. i did find out one thing tho, with my clutch pedle pushed all the way in, my rpm's spike 1k then 0 then 1k then 0, thats really wierd. car doesnt choke...

yeh im dumb.. i was running positive to negative.. that wasnt cool, and yes did get some interesting fireworks.. didnt burn anything out tho, my whole system has fuses on it for power spikes ect... i am going to run another cable from the positive on the alt to the positive on my battery, i hear tha...

ok, i was reading about upgrades to help with a fairly big sound system, and i read that if u run another wire from the ground on the altinator to the ground on the battery, itll help alot.. well i did that, and i got alot of sparks when i re-attached the (+) cable, so i undid it and took the extra ...

ok, i tried to remove the headlights.. i take all the stuff off i can see, and they still dont come out.. i get em real loose but they stay in. what am i missing? i need to paint my front-end and if i cant get my headlights out gunna make it a bit harder...

i feel real dumb askin this but ??

ok recently my engine developed a loud whine.... under load or just sitting in a parking lot.. guessing this is my water pump going out since my alternator is pretty new yet.. can anyone confirm? and while ur here, is there a bigger alternator i can use on my car? my stereo is killing it since i nee...

Would the protege lx tranny have a higher gearing? id swap it just for that, and i know doing 75-80mph with this tranny is like 3.5-4k rpm...

ok, i know this has been brought up before, but i gotta ask it one more time, since in the next month or two im gunna be swapping a BP into my sohc mx-3 :) which tranny is best for top speeds on highways? i just drove a little over an hour on the highway with my tranny now, and i had to keep it betw...

yeh replacing a manual tranny is really easy. Id never done it, and it only took me 3-4 hours to replace a clutch, and get the new tranny up...
