Thanks guys for the 411 on that... So essentially if I got my hands on a BP block the head would then serve a purpose....but what about the tranny? Wouldn't I need a Pro Lx tranny for best results? I just have a hard time throwin this thing away...

If you plan on swapping out for a newer engine of the same type, then I'd say "swap that joker!".... Otherwise, the block should be fine....I'd clean it out real good, check for any cracks or signs of strain and if all looks okay then you could also just shoot for the "top end job&quo...

it's on the passenger side right near the fender well (closest to the bumper)

and by the way...I realize I'll need the intake/exhaust manifolds, water pump and all that other stuff....I'm just worried about the bolt pattern...thanks guys!!!

Okay check it out...I work for a speed shop here in central VA...long story short we we're cleaning out the "junk trailer" and among all the carbs and big blocks/small blocks there was this little head, off in the corner... I instantly noticed it was a DOHC...(I have a 93 SOHC by the way) ...

I work at Advanced Engine Design (Richmond, VA) and may be able to locate one for you, however, for the amount of $$$ you're looking at spending on a CUSTOM turbo for your 1.6 (upwards of $2500.00 I'll check tomorrow for the turbo and contact you with my findings...

True, the SOHC isn't the best powerhouse... HOWEVER...it too has, and needs, it's place in the performance world. Maybe it's just me, but I'm happy that at least a few major companies are giving the SOHC a shot...(turbo, header, etc.) Keep in mind, not everyone can afford to swap to the much better ...

I know this is for a diff engine...but it may be of interest to someone (many may already know) I just got an email from John Pinfold @ Marcor and he says that they should have a header available for the 1.6 SOHC by may or june at a cost of $389.00 (Canadian) :2thumbsup: Anybody else hear of this??
