I'm getting ready to install some as well. My seats are by DAD but style is like Corbeau and I've read past threads that the Corbeau brackets/rails for the 91-96 Escort are a direct fit for the MX-3. This is the only place I've found them at so far. Hope to order from them in the next 2 weeks. (Cli...

so i know that the axle for the automatic is a half inch longer then that of the manual. But is it the axle thats shorter or the jackshaft thats shorter?

In other words, is it the jackshaft thats different from auto to manual or is it the outer axle assembly?

Since the production of the mx3 was split in the year 95, do you think there are differences in the axles? I am still having trouble finding the right part. I ordered a full passenger side axle today but when i went to pick it up, it was one whole shaft. There was not a joint in the middle. I didnt ...

Thanks a lot for the picture. The thing is, thats pretty much what my axle looked like. It was in 2 pieces with a bracket in the middle. I had this axle when it was an automatic (and had it professionally installed by a certified mechanic) Now when I did the auto to manual swap myself it was a real ...

The shop was aware of the swap. Let me say that this was the first time that the axle got stuck in the tranny. Please excuse my lack of intelligence, for I need to be 100% clear about the axles so I can bring the info to the mechanic. I told him about the stubshaft/jackshaft, and he looked at me lik...

I just want to know how hard it is to get the right damn axles for the tranny you are using?? Now you have paid a few different shops to get it done when it could have been done in ONE time by buying the right axles instead of trying to make something else work. Well its not like anyone on this boa...

ok ammco seemed to have found the problem. This is the second time uninstalling the broken tranny and this time the passenger axle would not come out of the tranny. It was cocked in there. It was crooked. I am missing some kind of bracket that holds the axle straight. This makes sense beacuse I had ...
