Sounds like your good friend burnt your clutch out, I get a bit of a nif from mine after a bit a mashing session but he must have given it some real stick by the sounds of it.

I'd get your cluctch looked at and give you mate a kick up the @rse.

I will be doing mine next weekend i think i will leave the water pump. Could you keep us posted as to what the problem was, seems like they might be cluctching at straws a bit over the belt being too tight but, hey you never know.
