my suggestion:

ZX2 S/R Tokico struts ($160 for all 4)
GS Springs
MSmotorsport upper mounts
Sway bars (rather than strut bars)

the MX would do well in autox. it's a bit heavier than the Protege/EGT and 323 of the same basic chassis, but has an advantage of a 30mm wider track and the V6, although the BP is lighter and just as powerfull.

all in all, it would be fun to drive if all else fails :D

maybe ya'll can answer this for me... I am swaping a KLZE into my Protege, i have a KLDE 94 ECU and a Megasquirt on its way. I read that the MS does not control EVERYTHING and i should use the OEM ECU to control certain functions...Assuming this is true.... my question is, could i use the KLDE ECU f...

agreed, you'll get much more parting it out than trading it in. they could care less if it has mods, infact, they'd rather it not have mods...more potential buyers.

good luck either way. The 3 is a great car, i love mine.

the ZX2's have a shorter shaft stroke for a 1.2" drop. A 2" drop will be *ok* but will tend to wear the strut out faster.

the Blues do not have a shoter stroke and would tend to wear out even faster with a 2" drop.

15" should be fine, but you may want to think about 16".

mmmm, that may be a caliper (or drum) issue or maybe a wheel bearing... maybe the brake line is pinched?

checked all the lugs?

From all the articles i've read and ppl i've talked to, the springs make noise, it's not a constant noise and it's less when the springs are new and still have the powder coating on them. You can use some rubber tubing over the coils to stop the noise. Assuming of course, the rest of the suspension ...

Its the springs. The H&Rs are progressive and have tighter coils that colapse onto each other underload and then the larger coils take over. What you're hearing is known as *coil slap*, and you probably usually only hear it at slow speeds over small bumps. It's normal with the H&Rs.

it means they fit all MX3 models without ABS, but do not fit MX3 models with ABS. Since you do not have ABS, they will fit.

it's a red/white wire in a 3 pin plug in the fuse box. IIRC, the wires face you, so if you plugged it in, it would be pushed towards the engine. here's a full list of all wires http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/detail.asp?info=alarm&year=1992-93&make=Mazda&model=MX3&ID=18306&ty...

FYI: The ZX2 struts are also made by Tokico.

B+G are good quality springs, should do ya just fine.
