Thanks for your help. I took the switch out previous to your reply and as it looked fairly worn (I didn't know how to test at that stage so cheers for the info!) I replaced which fixed the prob.

Rear Brake Lights
I have just purchased a Jap import '94 Eunos Presso and the rear brake lights don't turn off. I have adjusted the brake switch, which turns the brake lights off initially but after a couple of uses the brake lights come back on. It's as if there is a self adjust funct working somwhere.
