Re: md, dc., va
I'd be down to come, my folks live in Springfield, VA right outside of DC and I'm going to be there for my Christmas break from about Dec 16 until Jan 10. Unfortunatelly, my ride has to stay in Phoenix but I'd love to check out all of your rides and talk about MX-3's!

Re: The new 2001 MX-3
You do have a point that 30% is not nessecarily a controlling stake. It is difficult to know for sure without looking at Mazda's books, but I think that in this case Ford is the majority shareholder. I am pretty sure that the whole reason Ford bought so much Mazda stock is that in the mid '90's Mazd...

Re: The new 2001 MX-3
Mazda is a publicly traded corporation on the Tokyo stock exchange, and even though Ford does not own Mazda, the stockholders do, Ford owns a large part of Mazda: 30 something percent. Generally in any large corporation, any entity that owns 5% or more of a corporation's stock has a major say in wha...

broken off speaker mounts
a little over a year ago I replaced the rear stock speakers in my '94 RS with a set of Rockford Fosgate 6.5" speakers. The guy at the stereo shop told me they would fit, and they did, but the plastic posts that hold the speakers up have broken off under the heavy weight of the Fosgates. Now whe...

Re: Poll: What do you guys do for a living?
Right now I am a junior at Northern Arizona University, majoring in Computer Information Systems and also Accounting. Don't know what I want to do when I get out yet, but whatever it is I plan to make the big bucks so I can trick out my MX-3!

Re: Reactive stuff
Ractive stuff is pretty decent, its not real high end but if you are trying to save money it is definetly good enough. I've seen a couple of articles in Sport Compact Car where they use Ractive parts on their project cars and SCC would not install crappy parts on their cars! :p

Re: New car shopping
Dude, out of the cars you listed I would probably go for the WRX, it definetly has a lot of potential, it has a 0-60 of 5.4 seconds, thats like as quick as a Camaro Z-28! You might want to also look at the VW GTI VR6, my buddy has one, and even though its not as quick as the WRX, it is still fast as...

Re: What's the BEST Ehaust?!?
I reaserched this for my car and the best option is to buy a stainless steel muffler, like a Ractive or Weapon R (they are all pretty similar) online and then bring it to your local muffler shop and have them install it for you along with 2.5 in diameter piping from your cat back to the muffler, it ...

Re: *****HEADERS for the 1.6L!******
That would be great if we could get this S&S place to make headers for the DOHC, I would definetly buy a set if they are not overpriced. Since I live in Phoenix, about 15 minutes from Glendale, I wouldn't mind letting them use my '94 DOHC as a guinea pig. Anyways, I will e-mail them and express ...

Re: Arizona MX3 peops
All you AZ guys-<BR>Are there any good performance parts shops in the Phoenix area? I've been to Versus Motorsports on Glendale Ave. right off I-17, they are okay but there must be someplace better than that. I have a '94 RS and I'm looking to get a cold air intake and some kind of universal muffler...

Re: Arizona MX3 peops
Hey, how can I get more info on this azpoc group? Do they have a web site or something? My buddy lives near the intersection of River and Craycroft (foothills?), and he told me he has seen this car driving around the area he lives in but thats all he knew, he is into offroad trucks so he doesn't rea...

Re: Arizona MX3 peops
Wazzup fellas! I go to school in Flagstaff at NAU but I am in Paradise Valley a lot of weekends. I have a blaze red '94 rs, and I think it would be cool if we could all get together sometime maybe have a cruise night or something. BTW, my roomate who is from Tucson told me about a guy in Tucson who ...

catalytic converter
I have a '94 RS and I am haveing a custom catback exhaust put on soon. The part of Arizona where my car is registered doesn not require that cars have a cat. I am wondering if it would be worth it to have my cat removed and replaced with straight tubing while I am having the exhasut work done. Will ...

Do you still have the front left fender? If so what kind of condition is it in? Is the paint faded or damaged?
