I checked in my manuel and the trannys is the same.In your mx-3 u have the F5M-R tranny and so does the protege. The tranny of mx-3(dohc)&protege(dohc) are also the same.Both of those are G5M-R.

How often do u refill with oil?I have a mitsu eclipse that burns oil and i notice that i have to put oil every other week.If it smells like gas,Then that would be from your engine ruuning rich and not able to burn your fuel.Check your plugs and see if there chaulky black.

What engine code do you have stored? I can give more advise from there.Theres no need to guess around replacing things you might not need at the time.The mx-3 engine and electrical components are pretty easy to solve.

I cant fix it because the a piece of the rear frame is smashed like a can. Also the body twisted when it jumped the curb and hit the stair rail you see behind the car.By the way it was a hit-n-run,so i got nothin.
