Re: Likelihood of oil drain plug leak?
An update: So, I paid a reputable mechanic $50 today to be told the issue: Seems that recently when I got an oil change, they obviously did not completely tighten the drain plug, and did not put the oil filter on tightly. I remember they weren't even busy when I brought the car in for the oil change...

Likelihood of oil drain plug leak?
'93 MX-3 has been leaking a lot of oil. I haven't been able to crawl underneath it because my ramps seem to have disappeared. It looks like the oil is dripping from the area where the drain plug is, but I haven't been able to get under there yet. Is it common for the drain plug to get stripped out, ...

Re: Muffler longevity?
Yeah, I always heard about all the problems they have with corrosion because of road salt in the cold & snow up north. I'd never heard of it being an issue in the midwest...

Muffler longevity?
I know a long time ago (don't remember when) I had to get my muffler replaced. Since then I want to say twice I've had to get a new tail pipe welded on after noticing it getting louder and louder. Additionally, within the last week I noticed the loud noise again--the back of the tailpipe was all cor...

Re: Headlights - bulb options
Well, I grabbed some Silverstar Ultras. Kept meaning to put them in during the day while it was warm, but ended up doing it at night. Amazing how much more difficult doing something simple is when you're freezing and not wearing warm clothes....kept struggling with the driver's side one--could barel...

Re: Seat Covers
Oh, wow. Pretty sad to see an MX-3 filled with rainwater.
Yeah, the interiors were pretty rough on the ones I found. But I did get a near-perfect match door for cheap, to replace mine from when my car got wrecked into, a while back. I guess it's just random what you'll find out there...

Yeah, I keep rolling it all the way up. I guess it slowly just drifts back down.Nd4SpdSe wrote: Can't you just crank it all the way up? Use a set of pliers/vice grips? Probably related to your door handle, or the window/door moulding is going.

Manual window handles
I did something dumb a while back--was loading some groceries into the passenger side, in a hurry. I started to drive off and noticed the passenger door wasn't closed all the way (my phone was ringing, distracting me, and basically having a pretty bad day anyway). I reached across the seat and grabb...

Re: Headlights - bulb options
Oh, and I forgot to mention. The whole reason I started thinking about all this--I was following my gf home the other night, and she said "do you know you have a headlight out?" I was like "no". The next night I double checked, and my headlights were fine. A few nights ago, I cou...

Re: Headlights - bulb options
Hey, thanks. The Silverstar Ultras are what I was pondering getting from AutoZone. I had heard that they burn out faster, or become dimmer over time....sucks. Keep the receipt? Do they have some kind of guarantee on the time frame they'll last? My lenses do have that matte/cloudy look to them...was ...

Re: Headlights - bulb options
Looking on Ebay, I see mainly "Xenon" bulbs, and "Clear Halogen" bulbs. Am I on the right track here?

Re: Seat Covers
Good idea about the wrecker. Although, last time I went, all the MX-3s had poor quality seats, most with the windows left down and had been rained in, etc. I don't need them to be absolutely perfect, but I just wondered if all seatcovers were like the ones I got, or if anyone had found any covers th...
