The 2.3 could be done but is a lot more work. Unless you want an automatic you will have to use a stand alone aftermarket ecu to run it. There is a place in the tranny where a bearing mounts that is weak. The case cracks, the bearing moves and the tranny blows. Some where on probetalk there is a thread with pictures that shows all the gory details. I'm to lazy to look it up right now.

a 14B would work pertty well. They are good to ~300hp. The T25 is weezing at under 250hp.

I had an MX-6 V-6 that was using a quart ~400 miles. I switched to Castrol GTX 20-50 High Mileage and consumption dropped to a quart every 750 miles.
