Re: 2 questions..
1. Same as the 1.8L. (Sorry, don't know what that is.) 2. There are some pretty detailed posts on here about ECU/VAF combinations. Basically, use the following ECU/VAF combos: MX-3 ecu/KL-DE VAF (from mx6, 626, or probe gt) KL-ZE ecu/MX-3 VAF KL-DE ecu/????? MX-3 with auto, use MX-3 ecu and KL-DE VA...

Re: klze with 1.8 auto ecu?
If you are putting a KL-ZE in an auto, you will HAVE to use the 1.8L ECU. The auto in our cars is controlled differently than the auto in the 2.5L cars. Just get the VAF from an MX-6, 626, or Probe GT and the combination works nicely. (I don't remember the number for that VAF.) I have converted my a...

Re: MX3 Tranny Question
Why would you need to change the axles? My friend has a KL03 V6 Mx6 and his synchros are going out and he dosen't have money to buy anything new. I have a spare tranny off my K8 and I was wondering if the only thing he needs to swap out are the axels?

Re: Front end vibration
I read a similar post on ProbeTalk with an MX-6 (sorry don't have the link right now). They replaced their axles and the same symptoms appeared. One of the new axles was bad, but even after having it replaced, the car still had some vibration. Turns out this is common w/ our cars and P-GT's. Mazda c...

Re: mx-6 tranny in a mx-3
PGT/MX-3/MX-6/626 V6 all have the same 1-4th gear ratios PGT/MX-3 have 4.388:1 final gearing MX-6/626 have 4.111:1 final gearing PGT/MX-3/MX-6 have the same 5th, while the 626 has a slightly taller 5th gear for cruising. -------------------- David Coleman Found that in an old post. Not sure of Dave...

Re: mx-6 tranny in a mx-3
I have also read many differing posts about these trannies. From what I gather, the MX-3 and probe-GT have same gearing, while the 626 has higher 5th gear only. Not sure which group the MX-6 falls into. Remember that 1. the MX-6 probably has larger diameter tires than the MX-3 (resulting in higher e...

Re: A Simple Question about the Auto Transmission
Shaun is right about the tranny being poorly designed. If the steps Shaun mentions had been taken earlier in the car's life, I would expect it to last quite well. Since they probably weren't, you may be in time, or you may not. You mentioned that it is slipping already - not a good sign. Could be tr...

I am pretty sure the '94 will be the same as the '92, so...
The tranny cooler is the bottom portion of the radiator. Actually, it does a terrible job at actually cooling the fluid, and the addition of an aftermarket cooler would be a wise investment.

Re: WHERE TO GET SPEED SENSOR
Sounds like your tranny is dying again. I've seen the same symptoms with my MX-3's, and read about it from others. But... just maybe it really is the VSS. You can get it from Mazda, or probably a junk yard, but you should test it before you buy a new one. They are not cheap, and it usually is ...

Re: NEED HELP.. NEW MX-3 GS OWNER!!!
The engine should be fine, but the tranny will require some attention. As someone said above, you should install a transmission cooler and I would also recommend a switch to synthetic tranny fluid. (Heat is a huge problem with this transmission, and synthetic fluids can withstand the heat better.) T...

I know this post is a year old, but I'm having the same problem. If someone knows where the emergency fuel cutoff is (or if there is one) please let us know.
Thanks

Re: Exedy Clutchs....??
Quick question im doing a ZE swap so would the MX-3 V6 5sp fit on there? if so could i use a Mx-6 Aluminum Flywheel with an MX-6 Clutch? Need to know before i blow any money. That combo should work fine. The stock MX-3 flywheel is lighter than the stock MX-6 flywheel, so just make sure that your al...
