If it's a not a vacuum issue, like neutral described, I would guess something to do with timing. The notorious V6 distributor failure? I've experienced it 3 times, and each time there are different symptoms.

Re: valve cover gasket
1) The Chilton's diagram specifies to tighten the outside bolts first, then do the center. I doubt it's that important.
2) I had a gasket scraper to clean off the surface. It's just a safety razor on the end of a handle. If you end up getting any chunks of gasket in there you'll probably be able ...

Re: I need major help
If your head gasket is blown, which doesn't seem to happen a lot on K-series engines, you will have oil in your coolant and white smoke coming from your exhaust.
What color is the smoke? If it's blue, perhaps you're burning oil under acceleration.

Re: Cold Start
If you're really convinced it's a fuel problem, try some injector cleaner through it. However, I would bet this is related to our notoriously crappy distributors.

Re: This is great...distributor AGAIN....HELP!!!
Sometimes the rebuilt distributors are still defective. When my stock one went out it was replaced with a rebuilt unit that died after just a couple thousand miles, and had to be replaced again under warrantee. Warrantee or no, you are entitled to a replacement if the new unit only lasted 40 miles ...

1) If you're neat you can fill it with 3. I bought 4

I had a mechanic do mine. Just didn't seem like a
fun job. If you do buy it, Julian Bradbury's site recommends MT-90, NOT MTL.

No idea if they're archived here, but try Probetalk. The Timing Belt/Water Belt FAQ's are also on their site, in the 2.5 V6 Technical archives.

Re: Windshield wiper problem [RELAY??]
Hi -
I was told that the wipers' delay are built into the wiper switch, and that once the timing circuit was dead the entire unit had to be replaced. I know this sucks, I have the same problem on my car.

Brake pad recommendations
Hello group,
I'm shopping around for new pads (and possibly rotors) for my GS. I wanted to get EBC Greenstuffs as I've heard good things about them; however I haven't been able to find a set for the rear wheels, only the fronts. Does anyone know where I could get some, or who makes pads for the ...

wheel question
This may sound dumb, but how do you remove the center cap on the stock GS rims? I don't see any room to get it off so that I can remove the wheel. I appreciate any help.

Re: WTF's going on???
If there's only one drop of oil, it's doubtful you have a leak. Look under there while the car is running, if you see oil dripping then you might have a problem. As for the gasket, see if there is oil on the ends of your spark plug wires. Don't know where else it could be going, unless you're ...

Probably a fuse, that's what it was when my brake lights went. They're so cheap you might as well pick some up and try it.<p>John

Re: Does anyone have instructions...
To grease your bushings you will need to remove the bolt going through the bottom of the shifter that attaches it to the linkage (the black rod with the other end bolted to your tranny). I believe this is a 12mm nut. I have some Valvoline grease you can get at Autozone. If you're shifts suck and you ...
