Well, let me start by saying that I don't know .... but since it seems to behave in the mirror of what it should, is it possible you installed the switch backwards?

It isn't unusual for a manual transmission to not go into first gear easily when you come to a stop. When it happens just clutch then go into some other gear (second, third, whatever), then go into first and you'll find it usually goes in smooth and easily. Just a suggestion .....

Ahhh now I see what you mean, you have a shot at buying BOTH cars and make one decent one out of the two. At first I thought you were trying to decide between the '93 with bad carpets, seats, dash, cluster, etc. OR a wrecked '95 ... lol
