From my understand, the intake valves are the weaklink. The exhaust are not. Infact, the exhaust are the same as the KLDE intake/exhaust valves.

agreed, most people I see running b6 turbos run b6t stock turbo manifold and turbo

I got a question. I hear that replacing KLZE valves with KLDE valves is a good idea because KLDE valves are able to take alot more beating.

I hardly ever hear people with KLDE engines mess up any valves.
Also, would it be a good idea to get a KLDE engine out of a junkyard, then replace the heads ...

I use 280CC and MSns and i dont run rich at idle....and my FPS is not even connected..i dont even use it.

280cc is small for most boosted cars. try running 500cc or 1000cc injectors and things start getting hairy w/ 2.0ms pulse width.

I don't know what engine you are running but I'm thinking 4 ...

Im swapping my retainers to k8 retainers.. i hope thats not a bad idea. Im swpping to kl31 cams in a few weeks. I rarelyu drive my mx3 now since it got replaced as a daily driver by the sloclipse. :(

gt2871r will be too small IMO for a 2.5L
this is what I am getting for my 1.8L in my GTI. Very decent size for under 2.0L if you ask me

GT3071 will be better. I would definalty change the whole turbo for 400$ difference.

I heard BB turbos gives around 500rpm sooner spool up time compare to journal ...

What I would try is to grind 2 notches on each side of the bolt and use a pair of vicegrip on it

do the paper test which is :

place a piece of paper where the actuator arm is (between the arm and stop pin) on both vris arms.

go make a little ride

make sure you pass the vris point WOT

come back and check if paper is still there.

If is is your vris aren't working properly

If they are gone ...

can you borrow another disty from a friend see if it would work ?

Um no, Never assemble an engine without a proper torque wrench. There is a reason they have specs for those bolts. If you tighten those bolts to different specs your gonna load up the head differently, Cause ware on the cam journals, all sorts of things could happen.

If you an expirenced builder ...
