Ignition Problems?
So my distributer was shot on me again, so I decided to get the msd conversion because it was cheaper than getting a rebuilt disty. I got the jacobs electronics FC1000 ignition box and a jacobs coil. This box and coil are identical to the box and coil stated to be used in jeffs install page. So I wi...

Re: Engine Rebuild
I needed my cam journal built up and rebored. With this my front head got polished and totally rebuilt. Vavles reseated, valve guides replaced and had it resurfaced. No work on HLA's Total cost to rebuld the one head was $600 canadian. But that was with $200 for the head build up. So $400 isn't too ...

Re: Cams are in
40mpg driving home from edmonton 105km/h for just over 300km. Checked on a 80mile drive with the new cams in, figured 56, I must have figured wrong. I think I got the car way fuller at home than when I filled at the gas station. I'll do another test this weekend. Getting a new air filter tommorow.

Re: Cams are in
Well got my cel to turn off, missed a hose I needed to hook up  . But yeah, it works really good. You can definatly feel more pull at 2500rpm. I'm going to try and get on a dyno for you guys some time before x-mas and see just what they did to my torque curve. But I had to silicone a 2.5"...

Cams are in
Well I FINALLY got my KL01 cams into my K8, and was that ever a chore. Had to get my left cylender head rebuilt because the cam wore the journal down. Anyways, runs good, I think it may have a little more torque but its hard to tell. - My check engine reads an egr #16 on the list. Any ideas on how t...

Re: NEED A FIX FAST
Thanks for the help guys. Turns out that this is a pretty common thing on these engines, and a guy fixes them in Saskatoon. But now I have a new problem, I rounded off one of my head bolts.
So now what does a guy do to get that @#$#@ out of there? The engine has 140,000km on it.

NEED A FIX FAST
Ripped apart my engine today to change the timing belt, some leaking gaskets and seals, put in a new fuel filter, some KL01 Cams and finaly my intake spacers. Well, got to the cams and my front head is wore right down where the cam seal sits in. I almost lost my mind when I saw this. Now my question,...

Re: HEELLLP BRAKES WENT WEIRD GOING FAST 103 OCTANE!
Ok, I guess you guys forgot that this engine has a knock sensor. I was told; Higher octane in this engine, means more advance on the timing. More advance on the timing means more power in high range and less in low range. Now, I've read that the nock sensor works up to about 95-97 octane fuels and t...

idle problems
When my engine is cold, or right away when I start it, the idle jumps to just over 2000rpm and only drops back to 600-700 after it is warm. My question is 'why the high idle' on a cold block?

Re: VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION?
I have a set of KL-03 cams sitting in my shop that I "Should" have in by then end of the month. I'll post the results. One quick question though. Everyone tells me that the intake cams would be more agressive than the K8 ones, but whats the general idea on the exhaust cam comparison of the...
