Re: MX3 HT LEADS

Try a search for part: 922+7005 at www.nopi.com for 1.6L DOHC. I don't know their shipping policy to your part of the world, but it's a possibility.

Re: Triple A-Pillar Guage Pods for auto-retracting seatbelts

Everybody probably should have received their pods by now. If for some reason you haven't, you'll need to get ahold of Lo-Tek (their contact info is available at www.gaugepods.com). Other than that, I guess this group buy is over. If anybody would like to put ...

Re: Triple A-Pillar Guage Pods for auto-retracting seatbelts

Just a quick note:
I got a call from Lo-Tek today. Apparantly they're starting to ship out the completed parts. Please let me know when one of you receives your pillar so I can let the group know.
Thanks

Has a "goth" look to it (not saying that's good or bad) - just the impression I get from looking at it. If that's what you were going for, then I'd say you're heading in the right direction.

Re: Valve Seals

Fortunately, it's a non-interference engine, so worst case is you have to open it up again to re-position the timing belt. No bent valves to worry about.

Re: clear hatch cover?

I did a bit of custom work to my stock cover. There are two indentations in the stock cover - I cut out the rear one, leaving a ridge all the way around. I then made a "frame" out of wood that fit perfectly in the indentation. I painted the wooden frame black and then covered it in speaker grill ...

Just keep pulling. For some reason, the shafts on the mx's are the biggest pain to pull out, plus there's no real good spot to pry against.

Re: battery wont hold charge

If the car stalls when you remove the battery cable, then the alternator isn't prividing power to the engine. Putting an alternator on a competely dead battery can damage the alternator (from what I've read - never seen it myself). Sometimes the alternator comes with a sheet attached that says if ...

Re: Valve Seals

Valve seals can be done with the head in. They are just little rubber oil seals with a loop spring in them that sit on top of the valve guides with the stem of the valve passing up through the center. To get to them, you'll have to remove cam shafts and valve springs, so it's a time consuming job ...

Re: battery wont hold charge

Your tach dropping like that is an indication of low voltage in your electrical system (the extra load of the brake lights dropped you already dying battery voltage too low to power the instrument cluster. This implies that the alternator isn't supplying the power like it should. Check that the ...

Re: Triple A-Pillar Guage Pods for auto-retracting seatbelts

I have given LoTek the time that they said it would take to get the pods completed. I called today to get an update of the status of the project and here is what I found out:
The parts have been made (by the vacuum forming shop) and have been shipped back to LoTek for final production (painting ...

Re: Questions about setting up a video system...(long)

Careful with cutting your cigarette lighter adapter from the lcd power connector. Some of those adapters have voltage regulation/conversion circuitry inside (and some are just straight-through, too). Many have an integral fuse that you would want to keep in the circuit, too (sometimes the fuse is ...
