Re: High revs & squealling on startup
That seems normal on a cold start. Idle is always up when you first start your car and as it warms up your idle should gradually go down and as for the squealing sound, thats probably your belts. You might need to adjust the tension or get new ones.

Re: Interior wiring
You have to check your wires on your passenger door to see if you shorted out any wires. Did you recently add any speakers stereo or something you might have changed?

You can use liquid soap and water in a spray bottle. Spray on vacum lines and see if idle changes when it does, you found your leak.
Try it!!

Re: resistor making horsepower?
Using a ohm meter and checking the resistance on the first two wires on the airflow connector you get 1.2k ohms and thats when the engine is cold as it warms up the resistance changes letting the ECU knows that the car is taking hot air. A lot of you buy after market intakes so you can have colder a...

Re: now im pissed
Hey Mr Sparkle. I think the topic is Starter not Distributor and as for your UMN!! comment on car being in gear and stopping. Guess you've never driven a Manual Transmission before. Keep your 2 cents to your self it doesn't make you look any better!!!!

Re: resistor making horsepower?
Its a 1.2k ohm 1/2 watt resistor you can buy at RadioShack for less than a Dollar.
You disconnect the first two wires of your airflow meter connector and install this resistor in between the two wires ,which is your IAT Sensor. What it does is actually giving your ECU a False reading that its ta...
