Same thing was happening to me, the thermostat was shot. Also found out the water pump was leaking.

Ok, I was driving around with almost no gas when the CEL came on. It thought it was a warning that there was no gas (like a low fuel light), so I filled up and now the CEL is still on. If your motherboard can support 256MB of ram, you should be fine. If you are going to update soon it's hold off to get the newer type of ram. It got the same ones. They can will the housing and the lens. Im using the stock bulbs(clear) and they look good!
