Re: klze gas mileage
you're doing fine - my KLZE gets around 430 - 450km on around 40 litres - which is 27 mpg US or 32mpg Imperial - my K8 used to get 29 US and 33 Imperial - so count on 10% more fuel with the bigger engine, it's tough to know for sure because I know I am driving faster with the more power available!

did you change the timing belt when you did the rebuild? If so are you sure it is on right?
Also try switching over the fuel lines it's easy to get them on the wrong way

Re: KLZE swap coolant line question.
I remember thinking when I did my swap 'is where is the return pipe to this one ?' I filled up the rad. full of water and sure enough water came out of this one pipe but nowhere else so that gave me some confidence that it was a cooling line for as you say the auto box and it could be safely capped ...

Re: KLZE swap coolant line question.
i plugged that exact same one up 15,000km ago when I did my swap and everything seems ok. I never did figure out what it or where it went - my best guess is that it went back into the radiator?

Engine Flushing
What's the best to do a good job, as I see lots of diferent opinions:
1. use Gunk Engine Flush
2. add a litre of diesel fuel
3. add a litre of ATF
What do you think is the best?

Re: 4W ABS Light
The abs module is underneath the battery tray so you have to take that out first. I don't remember seeing any computer there though - all I saw was the abs unit with all the brake pipes going to it and a power supply cable coming from one of the fuse boxes...

don't panic!
Check for air leaks / splits in the plastic pipes that go into your throttlebody - if you find any duct tape them over until you are able to fix them properly,
hope you find them easily

Re: Screech from PS belt
that's a shame 'cos it's going to make looking after our cars a bit more difficult - the Chilton's manual I've got is a very poor one compared to what was on-line

Screech from PS belt
The Power steering belt screeches when nearly on full lock - is the belt too tight or too loose? I can never remember!

Re: rad fans, thermostat and ze
Mine warms up quicker as well - it's probably because it's a bigger engine creating more heat in a small space. I can't say the rad fans are behaving any different but then again I haven't been listening out for them. Is your temp. gauge reading in the same place because mine is about 1 or 2 mm high...
