Re: Whistle noise from engine bay
I have the same problem, it sounds like a whining type noise only heard well when the window is down and you are driving past something (sound bounces back). I'm thinking it's a bearing on a pulley, but I have yet to find out how/where/what to replace because I've never done anything with pulleys. M...

Rad drain plug
Has anyone had trouble getting the drain plug out of the radiator? It's really stupid that they used plastic for it, it is on the front of the passenger side right? Any way to flush it without getting it out?

Re: Coolant Resevoir
My coolant is also brown. I got the car from the brother of the origional owner, he said he never changed the coolant. My temp gauge sits below half, car doesn't smoke, no oil in the plug holes, no coolant in the oil. I tried to flush it but the stupid rad drain screw on the bottom of the passanger ...

I went from 20w-50 dyno to 5w-30 high milage (valvoline) and it seems to tick worse now. Also got reports of it smokeing a bit at high rpm shifts. We'll see how it does for the long haul, be intresting to see if it smokes at a 6k shift after 3000miles.

Hahaha my mx-3 is parked next to Rx-7, I'd like to see you get a 13B or 13BTT in there!! Why not just buy an rx-7 and save yourself some money. 3rd gen that is ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: 50mpg????? too good to be true???
This weekend I didn't go past 75 though, most was 65mph driving. Anything above 55mph is where it starts to cut into gas milage. I'd love to see what I'd get going 55mph on the highway, other then getting run over by a truck :). Yes my odometer is correct. I've been with my girlfriend for 3 years an...

Well I knew all that. Yeah and I didn't mean the oil gave me that, but the car got 33mpg the whole way to ocean city doing over 80 with the A/C on.
Trip meter reads 152, I'm going to go fill it up again, see what it really got.
**EDIT**
Oh and my float is not hung up, the needle moves when I g...

50mpg????? too good to be true???
Ok this may puzzle you as much as me. I got this car maybe 2 weeks ago because it got better gas milage then my Rx-7. Anyway I filled it up then took a trip. Took me 8 gallons to fill it, I've never used over 10 from even when the fuel light is on. Book says it holds 12 so I figure 10 before and 2 a...

Re: no more "tap-tap-tap!" Check this out
Sweet I'm gonna change mine out tomorrow even though I just changed it 200miles ago! haha, I'm a newb to mx-3s so I put in 20w-50 cause thats what I run in my rx-7, guess it's too heavy. Figure I'll do one of those engine flushes first. Thanks for the tip, hope it works for me too!
