Re: steering problem
Cold weather can make a belt that is barely within tensioning specs start to slip and squeal. Adjust the tension tighter if it has too much play (not too tight or you'll risk damaging the pwr. steering pump). If that doesn't work, your belt inspection should include looking for any signs of a shiny ...

Re: over-heated
Hmmm... I've had to replace maybe 8-10 thermostats over the years. Never had one that needed replacement because it stopped closing though. Only ones that acted up by not opening fully and all eventually refused to open at all... I've heard they can get stuck open but thought that was a fairly small ...

Re: squealing belt help!
The belt is slipping so adjust the belt tension but not overly tight or you could damage the component the belt is attached to. Sounds like the belt tension is too loose. If the belt was not slipping until the cold weather came, it was probably just tensioned enough not to squeal when temps were ...

Re: This is a drivetrain/suspension Question... I need help!
Not positive on this but I think your front brakes have a circular metal shroud behind each disc to help protect against road debris entering the disc surface area. Pull the front wheels and check to be sure the shroud/shield has enough clearance so it isn't making contact with the disc when the ...

Re: largest rubber on our cars
Somewhere I have a site bookmarked that has a table of offsets for different cars. Can't locate it at the moment but if memory serves, the MX-3 is either 38mm or 40mm offset.Originally posted by rebel2k4:

Re: over-heated
Water pumps that are wearing out often start leaking small amts. of coolant from around the pump shaft, with the leak getting progressively worse before they go altogether. 1.75L is a lot of coolant to have to add. Worth keeping a very close eye on the coolant level and search for a leak if the ...

Ya, I thought the K-series engines all did this when you try to advance their timing. B-series engines could be advanced though.Originally posted by Gro Harlem:

Re: i swapped my motor and i cant figure out why it wont sta
Agree w/Pedro. Sounds like you've allowed an opening for a large amt. of unmetered air to enter the intake. It's overwhelming the engine's ability to create/regulate the correct air/fuel mixture.

Re: black altezzas
I have the black altezzas installed 2-3 months ago on an arctic white 95 RS. No leaks yet. It's not that the fit wasn't good. They mounted in place of the stock ones with no prob. The prob is usually that a crappy manufacturing job was done poorly sealing the clear lens-cover to the light housing ...

Re: Car start problem.
Since the ribbed intake hose is already taped, sounds like the tape seal has loosened enough to allow unmetered air thru existing crack(s). Yup, this can easily cause the car not to run and will mimic a lack of gas which technically, is correct. You have so much extra unmetered air entering the ...

Re: Car start problem.
Ahhh, the shaking wasn't mentioned in your first post. 1st thing to check is easy and free. The problem could be unmetered air entering your intake through a crack in that large rubber ribbed air intake hose. I see you have a stock setup and a 92. It's common (and overlooked problem) for hairline ...

How did ya verify the spark? Being able to crank the starter doesn't mean you're getting a spark at the plugs. Just means you have a functioning battery and starter motor.
