tires

I have a mx3 v6 fitted with eibach springs(lower 25-30mm). I have TSW 7x16 alloys with 215/40 tires, but want to up the tires to either 215/45 or 225/45. What I would like to know is will the 225/45's be ok on full lock on steering and will it restrict suspension travel/foul on the w/arches.
I have...

Re: Supercharger for a KLZE???

dont know if this is of any help but mazda sold a xedos 9(eunos 800) in europe that had a supercharged 2.3 v6 fitted. It produced 210bhp in standard form.Maybe u could use this to source the supercharger and necessary accesories from it.The car was a Xedos 9 'Miller'in the UK.

Re: KL-ZE aftermarket ecu and APEXI

This might be a possibility and a cheap alternative.
If you identify the correct chip from mx6 or suitable 2.5 and fit this to your own ECU this would still give about 190 bhp from a KLZE instead of the 200 provided by a reprogrammed chip or proper klze ECU.
[ July 05, 2002: Message edited by: ...

Re: KL-ZE aftermarket ecu and APEXI

I have had my original mx-3 ECU rechipped with a 2.5 mapping, you could get it done by Corksport or Superchips, these give approx 8-12bhp increase over standard 2.5 mapping.
The reason I suggest this, instead of replacing the whole ECU, is that I did change the whole ECU and the car ran like S*!...

CO emissions

Just took my car(2.5klze)for an CO emissions check and it came back with the highest I've ever seen, over 3.0(legal limit in UK 0.3). I know I've got a defective cat and it is going to be replaced, but I've been told that although the cat could cause a rise in CO levels it would be nowhere near the ...

Re: Trouble

my car started to bog down or hesitate when I was pulling away from stationary and gradually got worse till I needed to slip the clutch and rev quite high to get going. It also had real problems idling. It turned out to be a split in the rubber air intake duct,I taped it up and it sorted problem.

Re: klze in a UK-spec mx3

MR MX
sorry if last answer is a bit vague on price. Took a look at some of my receipts,
Engine & in/manifold & ECU from corksport(inc shipping & taxes)+ air flow meter will cost about £2000, add £500 for gearbox and clutch(I prefer gearing & higher top end). Even to buy a UK spe...

Re: Engine Ticking..

when i went round test driving mx3's before buying I found that virtually all the cars had a ticking noise at idle, that went away when engine was warmed up. In fact mine does as well and its never caused any actual problems.

Re: Top Speed?

I think mx6 tranny should give you gearing for a top speed of about 235-240kmh or 145-150mph in fifth, provided the engine is powerful enough to get it there.

Re: klze in a UK-spec mx3

I live in Scotland, and the cost of the change will vary depending on whether it's just engine, or engine and box.The cost of all the second-hand parts can vary wildly and the amount of spares required is based on the state of your current engine and the bits that you need from it.I'm sorry if I've n...

klze in a UK-spec mx3

I have just completed the klze conversion on my mx3.In summary I fitted a Klze(with an eunos 800 i/manifold), mx6 transmission, mx6 clutch, reprogrammed ECU, 626 V.A.F. I also changed suspension to Eibach springs and Koni shox.
The end result is stunning, the car is absolutely tranformed. The ca...
