Re: how do i know if its klze
if you are looking for a KlZE your most likely source is an import jap spec MX6. All the standard UK Mazda 2.5 V6 (626,mx6,xedos9)are 165-168 bhp.

As this page says look for KL31-101 & KL31-1A1 stamped on the outside of the cylinder heads.

Mystery port/hole on my KLZE
Just put my car into garage cause its been running rough. Mechanic has found exhaust gases/sooty air blowing out of a threaded port on side of engine. This port is on the tranny side of engine and is located approx 1 inch below the in/manifold for the rear bank(No 6 cylinder). It is a threaded hole ...

Re: 4WD
The years that the GTX and the GT-R were produced overlap(I think). The GTX was produced 1989-1995(G5MX-R) The GT-R was produced 1991-1993(G25MX-R)
There was also a GTX produced from 1986-1988,but it had a 1.6 engine rather than the 1.8 in the later cars.
Few bits of info on drivetrain compariso...

Re: Fans constantly running.
I may be way off base here but have you checked the TPS to make sure it is correctly setup. If it is rotated too far round your fan will be on at idle even when not needed. Check this write up for instructions on how to adjust.
http://www.rs-productions.com/RSP_Motors/tech/tps/tps.htm

Re: 4WD
Found another site
http://www.323gtr.nu/eng
Look under Specification / Drivetrain, you get a nice pic of 4WD setup and pretty good write-up.
Are you sure your tranny is a g5m? Only reason I ask is that standard mx-3 tranny is G25M-R according to this thread. http://www.mx-3.com/cgi-bin/ultim...

Re: VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION?
The UK-spec Mazda V6's are the 1.8(135bhp), 2.0(145bhp), 2.5(165-168bhp). You could if your very lucky maybe source a KLZE from a Jap import MX6, or 2.0 KFZE from an import 323/Lantis(I think that's the one Lazzyie is referring to)
The car will pass emissions on the MOT test as long as it is set u...

Re: VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION?
Insurance companies in the Uk WILL insure an MX-3 with KLZE, but you will have to search about, try kit car insurers, or companies like Adrian Flux who specialise in modded/tuned cars. Mine is insured by a company called Sabre through a Ins.broker named Thames City (0870 6061409). I agree with Si, y...

Ramdao
I'd tried changing the fuel filter but it didn't help unfortunately.
I've now done about 250 miles since I changed dizzy and there has been no sign of the problem re-occurring.

Overload
Ended up taking your advice and getting a new dizzy, and it's worked. I'm still a bit mystified as to why the coil & ignitor 'fix' didn't work, but what the the hell my car works again and thats all that matters.
Thanks to all for suggestions.
[ July 13, 2003: Message edited by: m...
