Re: An affordable big brake kit - feeler thread-
That is a cool idea about making a new spindle and the I've thought of that as well. One problem is the cost of making one out of aluminum would be very expensive. It would cost much more than I would want to spend just to mount Wilwood calipers. You can buy a bigger brake kit that uses a bracket fo...

Re: An affordable big brake kit - feeler thread-
The reason I made this was not for 60-0 or 100-0 stopping times. I made this kit so that brake fade is no longer an issue. Stopping times will be mostly dependent on the tires, not the brakes. They should stop somewhat similar to the stock setup with very aggresive pads. Not only do they save weight...

Re: rebuilt ranny for drag
$800 a gear is just an insane amount of money to put into your gearbox. Might as well just find a sponsor and different gearbox w/sequential shifting.

Re: GS Transverse Member on RS
The FAQ needs to be re-written then because that is not true about the RS model.

None of the RS crossmembers have the holes drilled for the brace, only the v-6 models.

Re: An affordable big brake kit - feeler thread-
someone made them fit by making new holes welding over the old ones and adding some spacers I saw another guy on club protege, probably the same one who did that. The problem is, when welding to cast iron, it makes it brittle and could possibly break. My machinist strictly advised me not to weld on...

Re: Millenia master cylinder
I don't think so. IIRC, the Millenia uses a 15/16 bore and I know the 929 uses the 1" bore. I wouldn't bother with it unless you fully understand the math behind the braking system. I don't think that the 929's master is entirely bolt on without having to bend a brake line or 2. Change pad comp...

Re: An affordable big brake kit - feeler thread-
I have not been here for awhile but....yes, I'm still working on this. As far as production kit being made, I could do that but there is one small problem with using 11" rotors and Willwoods. The Mx-3 spindle will not easily adapt a Willwood caliper, in fact it wont without modification to the ...

LOL. The best thing to do is just not to tell them... My woman had a fit when I told her what I was up to, then got over it shortly. I am working on making this available for a long period of time. I can check on making a kit for the rear that would also use an 11" rotor only, kee...

Re: Which Drive Shafts / Axels for BPT ?
How much torque are you planning to make with the engine? Is it going to be street driven or heavily launced at the drag strip? Stock axles will be in most cases fine for a street car. If you want my opinon, stick with stock axles for a turbocharged BP. I've personally been using stock Protege axles...
