Re: Stumped...

Hey thanks for the responses..I was out of town for a week.
Damn car stopped being weird...only thing i did was put on a k&n oiled filter on the cold air intake. I bought a spare kl02 vaf just in case it was the vaf acting up as it was accel/decel related. Maybe the oil helped  :freak:

Stumped...

Hi all, just recently got my 96 mx3 w/klze back on the the road and have encountered an odd problem.
Randomly, the engine will cut out for a brief moment and then come back to life as though nothing had happened.
These cut outs are accompanied by the tach dropping to zero and the cel going off then ...

Re: Feedback: RobMinhas

Rob sold me some mini sides that never arrived. However, Rob took it squarely on the chin and refunded me my cost as soon as I requested it.
Top notch integrity there , so no complaints.

Just a note to any sellers, make sure you get your parcels shipped with tracking numbers to cover your butt in ...

Re: GS Auto to Manual swap Vris issues?

Thanks SuperK, however I spent my Labour Day at the local pickapart pulling a mtx harness and ecu as well as some zx2 rear control arm brackets for both of my cars in preparation for poly bushings. These cars are getting rarer and rarer...I appreciate the offer of assistance :D

If you've got or ...

Re: GS Auto to Manual swap Vris issues?

Just Search 'ATX to MTX swap', there's a lot of posts covering this with various problems encountered and resolved.

Believe me, uber lurking has provided me with many hours to read up on the swap ( search doesn't parse the word swap btw) prior to asking this question.
I only ask, as I could not ...

GS Auto to Manual swap Vris issues?

Ok, so my attempt to fix the auto transaxle in my '93 was a fail, so I'm swapping over to manual.
I've pulled all the relevant parts from a wrecker donor car and am preparing for a seamless swap...my question for those in the know is, how do I best deal with the Vris issues mentioned in the sticky ...

Re: Adjustable Mazdaspeed struts

Ah yes, the holy-grail of mx3 mazdaspeed parts, rarer than a lime green unicorn...alas no, they were but normal dirty black painted ones. But I did get a 2.25" stainless muffler off of it for 12 bucks with a 3" tip which now blots out all of my senses at around 80-90 kph, so...win! :freak:

Re: Greetings from an uber lurker..

Yeah the obd2 swap is dead easy..no ecu to change, no chips, just the kl02 vaf, plus you get real time monitoring with torque on the phone and a cheap ebay elm adapter. The only downside is the vris points but that's fairly minor.
Let me know when your car is rolling, I can come by and check it out.

Re: Adjustable Mazdaspeed struts

Oh I've totally pillaged that car...that strut bar pic is in my car (w/ze), I wasted no time installing it.
I picked off the front struts w/eibachs today, silver kyb's that actually came of with a ratchet and socket. I'm guessing the ms's on the front blew out and were replaced with these and ...
