I would assume that you would get more feedback if you post in the Buy/Sell or 4 cyl forum. But why wouldn't you go for a custom manifold and a bigger turbo. IMHO the stock turbo blows, not that i know anytin about turbos but just the fact that its at least 10 years old.

When I actually owned one, I tried to get a hold of a copy, but seems unfortunately that none exists. You might wanna try callin Mazda Canada and see if they have anything available and just mention them its for a school project. :p

Tell us what you wanna do to the exterior and we will come up with the best color.
If I was to ever paint my mx3, It would definitely be either a cool grey like the one you mentioned, or a blueish grey like the ferrari 360s, or a very light blue shade of silver.
