Re: Believe what you want...

so by combining stiff springs like H&R's (and a good strut combo) with say 16" wheels vs 17" wheels and the proper tire sizes, the 16" wheel and tire choice is going to ride a lot better than the 17's will because of the increased sidewall of the tire. with 16" wheels. Ok so...

Re: Axles not prying out, am I overlooking something?

It's the same as the other side. :)

As for putting them back in, they just go back on. (It's not as easy as it sounds, but line it up right and with some force, it'll go.)

Re: Believe what you want...

Re: Axles not prying out, am I overlooking something?

You either need a big "Pickle fork" and a dead blow hammer, or a slider hammer with axle pulling attachment if it isn't coming out with the pry bar.

Re: Clutch worth the buy.

What's your projected power levels?

I like South Bend clutches, but i have no idea which to recommend without knowing how much power you'll make.

Re: Believe what you want...

GR2s vs. S/Rs? Toss a coin. Price is about the same. HPs are better, but i don't find them worth the $ premium over the other two options. Why do you state that the HP's are the best of the bunch. I think the S/R's are the best of the 3. I had a set of HPs and I hated them. Blew 1 in 4 months of ow...

Re: Believe what you want...

Good and reasonable points made here. What's comfortable doesn't usually make for a good race car. What makes for a good race car, usually isn't comfortable. Nor is it cheap. The S/R struts.... now i've been this discussion many times with the Protege/Escort guys. Some of those guys swear by them, a...

Poly steering rack bushings available?

Like title says! I can get them (and have a brand new set) for the 93 Escort GT i'm working on, but i'm unsure if they'll work with the MX3 GS rack i'll be using.

Can i A) use the Escort bushings with the MX3 rack? Or B) does Energy Suspension make the bushings for this rack?

Thanks in advance!

And the aftermath. The car looks like it was raped by a gang of Mack Trucks. Notice that it's bleeding out. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d139/S10mafia50/2011-06-15_22-04-17_31.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d139/S10mafia50/2011-06-15_22-03-45_497.jpg Oooooooo V-Mount AC Exchanger! http:/...

Re: How the heck do i get the rear trans mount off?

ive taken my crossmember off so many time it takes me 20 mins to take it off and put it back on... Crossmember was too rusty to come off. The bolts on that were actually worse. Here's some more carnage: This picture was after i already cleaned it as well as i could, and pounded a socket over it. (A...

Re: How the heck do i get the rear trans mount off?

Well that sucked. Rounded the last bolt on the crossbrace, so couldn't get it off like that. 20 minutes with a cutoff wheel later, i had access to both bolts. They looked sketchy, so i soaked them in PB Blaster and did other things for awhile. Came back, threw a 14mm socket on one, and it was loose ...

Re: How the heck do i get the rear trans mount off?

I think you do have to remove the crossmember to get to those nuts. Not sure. I haven't been down there is a bit. Pretty sure i can get to the front one with the crossmember still attached, but probably not the back. Luckily, after looking at the diagram closer, it's just a brace, really. So if i h...
