Re: KL into an RS?
I personally did this swap and the mounts I used were as follows: Passenger Side Motor Mount – Mazda MX-3 1.8L Front Transmission Mount – Ford Probe Rear Transmission Mount – Mazda MX-3 1.8L Upper Transmission Mount – Custom + Mazda MX-3 => this was a combination of the MX-3 mount that bolts to the ...

Re: Underdrive pully
Yes there is a 1.6 dohc. That is what mine was before I swapped in a 2.5. And it is not a serpentine...it is 2 separate belts.

Re: Underdrive pully
It was quite a few years ago when I put one on my 1.6 but I know both belts had to get shorter. I don't remember or have part numbers but if I remember right I just went to the parts store and found ones that worked.

Re: parts needed to swap 1.6l 4 cylinder to 2.5l klze
Don't forget the v6 gauge cluster and radiator as well. You will also come across hoses and lines that you'll need as well. From my experience in doing this swap, the time spent finding the parts car is well worth it. Even if you have to travel it will be way cheaper and easier to have the car on ha...

Re: Underdrive pully
Both the power steering and alternator belt need to be shorter.

Re: parts needed to swap 1.6l 4 cylinder to 2.5l klze
I personally did this swap and the easiest thing you can do is get a v6 parts car. Otherwise you will spend an are and a leg for all the parts listed above. It is a lot of work but it can be done.

Re: Looking for tuner shop
Youre a real big talker over the internet. Considering I spent 2 years trying to track down the issues I feel I spent plenty of my time and money. Didn't run away just decided it was time to move on to something bigger and better.

Re: fuelinjects 1.6 to 2.5 swapp. 93 mx3
The donor car I used for my swap was also an automatic. The only thing I was missing was a plug for a sensor on the bottom passenger side of the transmission. I left it unplugged. Didn't seem to affect anything. The upper transmission mount was also different but I just fabricated one. Just make sur...

Re: fuelinjects 1.6 to 2.5 swapp. 93 mx3
I have personally done this swap and a donor car is well worth the time in searching for one. There are things needed to swap here and there but there are some big hitters needed as well. Off the top of my head the engine wiring harness, mounts, radiator, lower crossmember plus v6 cradle unless you ...

Re: KL swapped RS??
When I did my swap I just used the rack from my RS and used the lines/hoses from the GS. So worst case you could just go buy new power steering lines from the parts store. I can't remember exactly but you may need to find a GS reservoir depending on where the inlet and outlet are. Also like it was m...

Re: KL swapped RS??
The RS and GS cradles are the same except the lower crossmember mounting on the GS. Those mounting points need to be added. My motor mounts were a combination of mx3, probe and the upper tranny was custom.

Re: KL swapped RS??
Yes I can say from experience the GS harness plugs right into the RS body harness. That's what I was referring to with the plugs down by the ecu. If i remember right there are 3 down there the engine harness plugs into. Only thing I had to do was extend the VRIS wires so they would plug in with slac...

Re: KL swapped RS??
I'm sorry but that is outside my experience. From my experience you should be using the engine harness from a 1.8 V6 MX-3 so they are just plug and play. I'm not sure how the 626 harness will integrate under the dash into the connectors by the ECU. As far as the power steering that goes the same. If...
