A few grand under the hood of most cars car go a long way. Personally I would love to see what mistu motors are easy swaps to do. I am sure someone out there has dropped in a 4g63 by now. where i work at there is a coustmer car 98 hyundai sonata drag use only with a 1st gen 4G63 built motor with a ...

Rings dont set right away though, motors do have a breakin period.

I will say loss of power can be anything and everything though it can take a while to track down.

There is not a speed limiter. On the BP swap I have reached the mechanical top speed with the rev limiter at 7.5k, you can do the math on that one. I have gotten my sohc mx-3 up to 120 once 115 on average. takes forever at least am not the only one what can rev in 7500rpm range. so how fast did u g...

Now that im running turbo i decided to see wat it could do (top speed) this morning after getting off around 7:30 am. Got it up to 130 MPH,slowed down after that because ive never gone that fast. I thought we have a limiter in our cars ? i thought i hit it one time around 115. although i could have...

I like the look of the newer tiburons just not the power output. I have always thought they were slow espically for how much power they claim. Either way I dont even own an Mx-3 anymore, I own two hondas, a mazda pickup and a Starion. As long as the Mx-3 is not an auto they have a decent amo...

^ or just get a DOHC harness & ECU and plug n play ..... Not so simple. The DOHC harness is couple to an ECU that is aware of an SRS system. It will cause a few minor issues and the wiring is a bit more complex, too. Let alone the emmsisions issues that a newer ECU for an Mx-3 would be aware of...

Anyone on this forum actually done this swap before? I know Joey has, but he's the only one I know of. Like i said above.. I have run a 94 DOHC motor on a 86 SOHC ECU, this is very similar to what you are doing. We have also ran the same motor on a B3 ECU in an festiva. The DOHC motor DOES use a ne...

oh ya sorry. 1.6L SOHC engine is in there right now. Swapping in a 1.6L DOHC. Manual trans. Oh and sorry for the double post but you should be able to get it run to off of just about any BG combinaiton of harness and ECU as long as the year range is right. There can be a little bit of jerry rigging...

pull the tranny out with it, it will make it easier, also, check to make sure the wiring harnesses are the same. Bochek the wiring harrness are different for the 1.6 sohc & dohc( lot more wiring and nonsense) Boris ur better off swaping to a 1.8 bp dohc. a little more power than the 1.6 dohc 12...

If you look around you can find what your looking for. You can find a lot at http://www.corksports.com Although if you do the work yourself a BP (not BPT) swap is not that exspensive. Even when you pay someone to do it in the land of swaps its fairly cheap. I spent more on aftermarket parts for my c...

i just cant reach it from under the car, my jack is not good enough, and its really hard to even get to it from the top, i couldnt even find the bolts. lol. The first thing about working on cars, if something is in the way remove it. The exceptions to this being things like manifolds and large comp...
